From Quantum Physics to Medical Diagnostics:
Investment Story

  • Grove’s first financial investors (Spring 2023) were two Angels, former students of the Founder, who together contributed £67.5k. They were soon joined by Deepbridge Capital, led by Andy Round, with a first SEIS investment of £150k.

  • In 2024, Grove obtained a second phase of pre-seed funding, from the Development Bank of Wales (led by Linzi Plant), £150k, and a second SEIS investment by Deepbridge, £100k. This total of £250k was matched by a grant from the Innovate UK Investor Partnership scheme, £210k. Moreover in 2024 Grove also won substantial grants from the Welsh Government, through the Smart-FIS scheme, eventually to total (in three phases) £225k.

  • In 2025-26, Grove was further boosted by follow-on Angel investments of 75k, to bring total commercial investment to almost £550k, and the award of a further grant, under the European cross-regional Vinnovate scheme, of £133k, bringing the total of grants won to over £550k.

  • At the time of writing (July 2026) Grove is raising a final pre-seed investment of £300k+, which aims to take the company through to a Seed round in summer 2027. By this time revenue streams in Lab Testing and Materials Sales should both be flowing.

  • Grove’s Seed Round seeks to raise £750k in 2027 to bring Home and Point-of-Care Allergy Tests to the international market from 2028 onwards, and to scale operations. Engagement with investors, whether Investment Funds, Angels or Trade Investors, is most welcome.
